Jacqueline Kennedy nee Bouvier wore a silk taffeta wedding dress when she married Senator John F. Kennedy in 1953. African American designer Ann Lowe created the dress, which had a fitted bodice embellished with interwoven bands of tucking, a portrait neckline, and a bouffant skirt.
